This charitable foundation has been spearheaded by Ed Luce since 2006, raising more than $87,000 to help support children affected by Type I Diabetes, and their families.
A year or so ago I was contacted by the father of this boy who had just been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The worry and shock of such a diagnosis can't be overstated - what do we do?
Well we contacted the Camp and they stepped in to help the family. This boy was 6 years old and but was turning 7 before the last camp session - he made it in!
So, at the age of 6 he started giving himself injections and was looking forward to showing the big kids at the camp what he could do.
None of us ever want this to happen to our children, but it's wonderful to know there is a special camp for kids with Type 1 Diabetes. Your donations make a difference!
